In DragonVale, breeding is the name of the game, and this dragon breeding guide will help you in your long journey of breeding the different dragons in the game. In order to breed the different dragons, you need a Breeding Cave which unlocks at level 7, or an Epic Breeding Island which can be purchased for 125 gems at level 13. The upgraded breeding times are in the Enchanted Breeding Cave and the Epic Breeding Sanctuary. Breeding Cave & Island Changes: After upgrading the breeding cave or island, the breeding times are decreased by 20% of the original time but the incubation times in the Nursery will remain the same. Those times are listed above. In addition certain dragons take more times to breed or hatch. You can speed these up via upgrading and you can get more gems so you can instantly complete them. Epic breeding is epically hard!
There are a special class of dragons in DragonVale, that are so rare that each one is an achievement to acquire in and of itself. If you like actual Achievements you'll need to breed epics for 'Every Last One' and 'Double Rainbow All the Way!' Similarly there is a Goal for obtaining the Rainbow Dragon called 'Raised the Rainbow'. If that wasn't enough, certain Epic dragons are decidedly the best DragonCash generators in the game due to their high earn rates and large habitat capacities.
